Turn It Up
Diamond, a rap artist striving to escape the tough streets of Brooklyn, is working on a demo tape with the help of his long-time friend Gage, who serves as his manager. They are using budget studio time to make it happen. To cover their expenses, they work as drug couriers for “Mr. B.” Within a single week, Diamond faces a series of life-altering events: his cherished mother passes away unexpectedly, his father reappears after a 12-year absence seeking to reconnect, and his girlfriend Kia reveals she’s pregnant, asking if he’s prepared for fatherhood. In a bold move, Gage commits a high-stakes robbery, stealing $100,000 to fund Diamond’s full album, unaware that the money belongs to Mr. B. Now, Mr. B wants his money back, Diamond is focused on his music, and Kia is looking for an answer.
