In an effort to mend his relationship with his distant son Daniel, Peter Davis, a struggling screenwriter from Los Angeles, decides to take his young son on his latest research trip to Africa. However, a mix-up with their luggage leaves them without money or passports, forcing them to take shelter in a dilapidated trailer that is about to be scrapped. While there, Daniel befriends Asanda, the son of the scrap yard owner, and together they embark on a creative adventure through various imaginary worlds in search of the “ultimate story” to assist Peter. As they journey through fantastical realms and explore strange new planets, Daniel ultimately discovers that the true essence of life lies in spending time with loved ones.
