To Die in Jerusalem
Four years have passed since 17-year-old Rachel Levy from Israel was tragically killed in Jerusalem by a Palestinian suicide bomber, and her mother, Abigail, has struggled to find peace ever since. The bomber, Ayat al-Akhras, was also 17 and came from a Palestinian refugee camp located a few miles away. Remarkably, the two young women bore a striking resemblance to each other. “To Die in Jerusalem” boldly delves into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by focusing on the personal grief experienced by both families. The film’s most poignant scene occurs during an emotionally intense meeting between the girls’ mothers, offering a contemporary perspective on the conflict through their experiences.
