The Majestic
Set in the 1950s, this film follows the story of a blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter, played by Jim Carrey, who loses his memory in a car accident and finds himself in a small town where he is mistaken for a long-lost war hero. As he embraces this new identity, he becomes involved in the community’s efforts to restore a local movie theater, The Majestic. Directed by Frank Darabont, the film explores themes of identity, redemption, and the power of cinema. While it did not receive major awards, it is noted for Carrey’s dramatic performance, a departure from his usual comedic roles. The movie can be viewed on Soap2day for free.
