The King
Raised in a financially struggling family, Tae-su comes to believe that power is the ultimate key to success and sets his sights on becoming a prosecutor, a role that epitomized authority in the 1990s. After gaining admission to the country’s most esteemed law school and witnessing Korea’s democratic movements, Tae-su achieves his ambition of becoming a prosecutor. However, he finds his life is no more fulfilling than that of an ordinary office worker. By a stroke of luck, he becomes part of an elite group of influential prosecutors who wield both wealth and power. As Tae-su indulges in the privileges of being at the top, he also becomes aware of the harsh realities that accompany such dominance.
