The Innocent Sleep
Drawing inspiration from the 1982 Roberto Calvi Affair, where an Italian banker was discovered hanging from a bridge over the River Thames, this narrative centers on Alan, a man from Northern England who finds himself homeless after losing his wife and job. One evening, while taking refuge in an abandoned building, Alan becomes an eyewitness to the murder of a prominent businessman. As he tries to slip away unnoticed, the perpetrators become aware that their crime has been observed. When Alan approaches the police, he is shocked to find that one of the murderers is in charge of the investigation. To ensure his survival, Alan enlists the help of Billie Hayman, an American journalist, to bring his story to light.
