Six Characters in Search of a Play
In his latest film adaptation of his solo performance, Del Shores, known for creating Sordid Lives, collaborates with director Emerson Collins to definitively showcase that he is not merely a writer but a self-admitted “thief” of real-life stories. In “Six Characters In Search Of A Play,” a nod to Pirandello’s famous work, Shores introduces six unique individuals he has encountered in reality, who have yet to find their way into his theatrical, cinematic, or television projects. The film reveals the genuine tales of how Shores gathered these quirky personalities and their narratives, as he humorously reenacts his wild interactions with them. Viewers will be introduced to Yvonne, a Dallas waitress with a disdain for vegetarians; Sarah, an elderly actress who despises Trump and juggles an inhaler and a cigarette; Jimmy Ray, a Georgia redneck in transition who loves Magic Mike; Loraine, a former drama teacher who has lost her sanity and developed a fixation on pornography; Marsha, a lesbian with COPD who detests monkeys; and Aunt Bobby Sue, a Republican with racist tendencies but a kind heart.
