Sik-gaek: Kim-chi-jeon-jaeng
“Le Grand Chef 2” kicks off with a visit from the Korean president to the Japanese Prime Minister, where they engage in a fiery argument about the true origins of kimchi. The Japanese Prime Minister provocatively asserts that kimchi is a traditional Japanese dish, which infuriates the Korean president. Upon returning to Korea, the president initiates a plan to globalize kimchi, part of which involves organizing a nationwide “Kimchi Contest.” In this competition, a woman named Jang-eun (Kim Jung-Eun) and her step-brother Sung-Chan (Jin Goo) face off, both relying on their mother’s kimchi recipe.
