Mrs Brown’s Boys
Mrs. Brown’s Boys is a celebrated sitcom from Britain and Ireland, conceived and headlined by Brendan O’Carroll, who is both the writer and performer. The series draws inspiration from O’Carroll’s stage productions centered around the character Agnes Browne, which themselves originated from his books and direct-to-DVD movies. The sitcom extends the narrative of Agnes, now with the last name “Brown,” and her family, portrayed by O’Carroll’s real-life friends and relatives. Despite initial negative reviews from critics, the show has achieved significant viewership success in Ireland, its setting, and the United Kingdom, where it is filmed. The third season of the show premiered on 29 December 2012. Mrs. Brown’s Boys is a collaborative production involving BBC Scotland, BocPix, and RTÉ.
