Drawn Together
“Drawn Together” is an American animated sitcom for adults that aired on Comedy Central from October 27, 2004, to November 14, 2007. Created by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein, the show blends a traditional sitcom style with a reality TV show backdrop.
Similar to MTV’s “The Challenge” and VH1’s “The Surreal Life,” the series features eight characters who are a mix of well-known and recognizable personalities. However, “Drawn Together” distinguishes itself by using exaggerated versions of established cartoon and stock characters. The characters’ traits humorously mimic the personality types often seen in reality television.
Promoted by Comedy Central as the first animated reality show, some episodes include characters engaging in challenges reminiscent of those found in reality TV. Despite being canceled after just three seasons, the show has retained a dedicated fan following. This led to the release of “The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!” on April 20, 2010.
