Salomé
Al Pacino’s directorial venture, “Salomé,” was shot over a span of five days in 2011 but has not yet been widely distributed. This film is part of a double feature alongside the documentary “Wilde Salomé,” which premiered in Venice and explores the creation of the movie. Both works are based on Oscar Wilde’s short play “Salomé.” According to the IMDb synopsis for the 1923 adaptation of the play, the story revolves around Salome, the daughter of Herodias, who entices her stepfather and uncle, Herod, the governor of Judea, with a provocative dance. In exchange, he vows to give her the head of the prophet John the Baptist.
