Hanachan no misoshiru
Yasutake Shingo, a newspaper journalist known primarily for his sincerity, encounters Matsunaga Chie, a student at a music college, and they begin a romantic relationship. Chie’s vibrant personality, characterized by her love for laughter, singing, and food, brings joy and brightness to Shingo’s life. After a year and a half, Chie secures a job as a music teacher. However, Shingo receives the devastating news that Chie has been diagnosed with breast cancer. After careful consideration, he decides to propose to her, offering his commitment to spend their lives together. This proposal gives Chie the strength to proceed with the surgery she had been contemplating. In the meantime, Chie starts teaching 5-year-old Hana essential life skills like doing laundry, cleaning, and cooking, ensuring that her daughter and husband can manage even if she is no longer with them.
