Come on In, We’re Dead
The film recounts the most lethal confrontation for law enforcement in American history. On January 2, 1932, near Springfield, Missouri, a group of ten police officers and one civilian attempted to apprehend two brothers accused of murder. The Sheriff, who had been a neighbor to the brothers’ family, anticipated no issues. However, the situation escalated dramatically, resulting in nine of the eleven being shot and six losing their lives. This incident remains the deadliest shootout involving police officers to this day.
