Escape
Doctors Paul and Kim Jordan, a married couple, are in desperate need of a major change in their lives. Devastated by the mysterious death of their infant, Paul (played by C. Thomas Howell) persuades Kim to leave their life in America behind and join a medical mission in Thailand. Initially, this seems like the perfect distraction, until Paul is abducted by human traffickers who require a surgeon to treat their injured leader. Kim is left alone in an unfamiliar country, frantically searching for her husband without any evidence of his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Paul finds himself imprisoned on the gang’s remote island, sharing a cell with Malcolm Andrews (portrayed by John Rhys-Davies), an Englishman held for ransom. With little else to do, the two men engage in philosophical debates, with Malcolm placing his trust in a strong faith in God, while Paul struggles with the idea that a benevolent deity would permit such atrocities. Paul’s challenges intensify when he discovers that his patient’s condition is far more severe than he can manage under such rudimentary circumstances. Written by Anonymous (IMDB.com).
